Documentation version and scope

Code references, release versions, and validation boundaries for this documentation review.

Review baseline

This review was completed on November 2, 2026, against youyu-youth/KnowRealm-AI.

  • The docs use remote main commit ba37666, not local feature branches, as capability evidence.
  • The reviewed official release is v0.1.0, providing a Windows x64 MSI and SHA256 checksums.
  • The installer is based on main commit a22feb5. Later main commits add release and acceptance records. Check Downloads and official Releases for the currently available version.

Documentation coverage

Interface entries, API calls, and backend handling were reviewed for onboarding, service configuration, capture, inbox, library, courses, summary confirmation, chat and sources, controlled assistant actions, learning plans, practice, learning profiles, data export, and migration.

These features have corresponding implementations. This does not mean every scenario has passed real device and provider acceptance. The docs describe traceable current workflows, without promising generation quality or recovery from every failure.

Release validation scope

Official release records confirm local Windows installation, actual desktop onboarding, and independent backend checks for course creation, text saving, Chinese search, TXT/PDF/DOCX import, audio transcoding, and persistence after restart.

That release did not verify real models and Tencent Cloud transcription, a separate clean Windows machine, all display scaling settings, or the default administrator installer interface. Some multi assistant recovery scenarios remain unresolved and should not be treated as fully accepted.

Current limitations

  • v0.1.0 supports database versions up to 57 and cannot open newer development databases.
  • The installer is not code signed, and some Today page content remains labeled as illustrative.
  • Saving, assignment, AI generation, human confirmation, and mastery are different states or actions.
  • Main does not expose arbitrary terminal execution, arbitrary file writes, an unrestricted multi assistant platform, or fully offline AI.
  • The new editing workspace on development branches is outside this version's guide.
